Jessica + Jake // Union Pine Wedding

Oh my gosh, these two wonderful humans are so adorable, and so was their home, dogs and entire wedding. It was one of those days that was full of love and laughter, and I'm seriously thankful I got to be a part of it.

Louise + Cameron // Black Tie Wedding in the Oregon Woods

Clock_dark almost 2 years ago

Wow. This wedding caught me totally off guard. I'd never met Louise and Cameron before their wedding day since they had planned it from across the country. When I showed up and realized I got to capture such an incredibly beautiful day, I was overjoyed. Not only was everyone kind and happy, but every detail was perfectly thought out. They blended Filipino and Jewish traditions, the bridesmaid's dresses were designed by a friend, and a family member sang live during the first dance. Hosting a black tie wedding in the woods isn't an easy feat. They even brought in a baby grand piano! Check it out. Get inspired.

Margaret + Jeff // Gorge Crest Vineyard Wedding

Clock_dark almost 2 years ago

This day was a perfect example of being able to "go with the flow" on your wedding day. The setting was the always stunning Gorge Crest Vineyards, which is typically an hour drive from Portland. Myself, the wedding party and all the family made it out there early in the day, but an overturned semi prohibited the rest of the guests from arriving for hours. Incredibly, everyone was calm, and we spent the extra time capturing portraits and enjoying the view. Once the rest of the folks arrived, the ceremony commenced followed directly by dinner. It was a little unconventional, but you can't control everything, and Margaret and Jeff stayed relaxed the entire time. Cheers to a bride and groom who enjoyed their day regardless of the circumstances!

Cori + Evan // Italian Countryside Wedding at a Tuscan Villa

Clock_dark about 2 years ago

Whoa. This wedding.

There really is so much I can say about these beautiful people and this incredible day that it's difficult to know where to begin.

I've known Cori and Evan for years, and I adore them both, so being invited to Tuscany to shoot their intimate wedding felt like a bit of a dream come true.

A few dozen of their closest friends and family flew out to Italy, and we spent the first few days sipping champagne by the pool, exploring the villa grounds and all becoming great friends. By the time their wedding day rolled around, we were all so relaxed. The day felt personal and heartfelt, and oh man did we eat so much Italian food. Plus, a dinner with never-ending wine leads to one hell of a dance party.

So congratulations to these two, and one million thank you's for flying me across the world to capture it.

Andrew + Kate // Southern California Desert Wedding

Clock_dark over 2 years ago

I've been sitting on these photos for awhile, and now that I'm blogging them I'm really wondering why.*

These two!! Oh my goodness... They got married about an hour north of LA at a desert museum in Santa Clarita. If the scenery wasn't spectacular enough, their cowboy boots and bolo ties and slightly steampunk bridal party made the day incredibly interesting to photograph. Not to mention, they had a hawk fly the rings down the aisle. Seriously.

I think the best part, aside from all the coolness mentioned above, was really that they are two of the nicest people I've had the honor to spend the day with. So, congratulations again to these two creative, compelling humans! More weddings like this, please.

*Probably because it's Summer, and I'm shooting all the time, but now I'm remembering how incredible this wedding was.

Let's go back a little...

Hannah + Keith // Revolution Hall Wedding

Clock_dark over 2 years ago

This is basically the wedding where adorableness knows no bounds.

This rad little venue that spans three floors (including the rooftop) of an abandoned high school opened up in Portland last year, and it was the perfect backdrop for their big day.

Plus, it was just so damn fun. A dance party in the auditorium!? Incredible.

Layne + Josh // Musical Portland Wedding

Clock_dark over 2 years ago

Because some weddings have all the good vibes..

In our first correspondence, Layne and I discovered we grew up just a handful of miles from one another in the great state of Texas. Though we'd never met or had any common connections, we somehow came together in Portland when she was looking for a wedding photographer.

Josh, who grew up in Oregon, is a musician in Austin, and even though I was told there would be live music at their reception, I had NO idea how talented these folks would be.

These guys switched instruments and vocals with an amount of ease that I've never seen before. Everyone killed it.

Plus so much dancing. And love. And joy.

Let's go back a few hours...

Erin + Freddie // Lake Oswego Wedding

I've been staring at my computer screen for ten minutes trying to decide how to adequately summarize this wedding. It simply can't be done.

I can say that these two are as genuine as they are beautiful, and the amount of love they have for one another is palpable.

Best day ever, indeed.

Kara + Pete // Ca' d'Zan Wedding // Sarasota, FL

Clock_dark over 3 years ago

You might remember these two gorgeous people from their epic engagement shoot in the Columbia River Gorge. Well, their wedding took that amount of awesome and multiplied it by 1000. What's even better is that I've been friends with these two for years now. I remember when they met, I watched them fall in love, grow together, and I'm so honored that I was able to capture these moments in their lives. Plus, they threw one hell of a party in a stunning location on the Gulf coast of Florida.

I love you, Kara + Pete, and I'm so damn happy for what your future holds.

Molly + Trevor // Rontoms Wedding

Sequins, whiskey shots, climbing on a roof, a hip venue and the absolute best guests.

This wedding set itself apart.

It's days like these I feel honored to be there to capture all the love.

A little earlier that day...
